Dare TO BE … Among – All A retrospective on Heimtextil, AI, and the sensory future of interiors

For FABB, Heimtextil is the most important European trade fair, bringing together over 3,000 companies from the textile industry. Beyond showcasing new collections, we always follow with great interest the accompanying special exhibitions, trend forecasts, and panel discussions. As Detlef Braun once said: “Heimtextil is the place where the future is born.”

Among the visionaries shaping the future of textile design is Patricia Urquiola, who a year earlier personally engaged in the Among Us installation, presenting textiles as a medium of human relationships. The exhibition invited visitors to touch, relax, and physically engage with the material.
At this year’s edition, Urquiola shifted the focus toward virtual reality, hybridity, and the visualization of our inner imaginaries.

The designer explains:
“While Among Us focused on closeness, Among-All unfolds as a responsive, transforming textile ecosystem… Visitors actively reshape the space through their presence.”
The result is an interactive environment that connects materials, technology, and design with the individual needs of its users.

AI will not replace craftsmanship, human intuition, or creativity—but it will change the way we design. The future of interiors is not digital, but SENSORY: fluid, evolving, ambiguous, and deeply rooted in environmental responsibility, where waste increasingly becomes a resource.
The focus is shifting toward intuition, touch, and the conscious choice of materials that resonate with the user’s personality.

That is why FABB presents a coherent creative vision:
“Dare to be yourself. Dare to be with FABB.”
Rather than imposing solutions, we encourage the creation of personal narratives through fabrics of diverse textures, colors, and patterns. In our exhibition crates, we present six archetypes in which personality is directly linked to interior style.

We also emphasize the importance of hybrid fabrics—materials that reduce design limitations by blurring the boundaries between indoor and outdoor living.

We do not want to encourage following trends, but rather the COURAGE TO BE YOURSELF—to express individuality through fabrics, wall colors, accessories, and meaningful details.
Dare to explore our diversity and choose what feels closest to you.
